Winter 2010
Dear Prospective Parents and Students,
This year marks Green Meadow Waldorf School's 60th anniversary -- 60 years of educating children by understanding and addressing the distinct, age-related physical, emotional and intellectual needs that unfold at each individual stage of their development, from the early childhood years through high school. Our mission -- to foster self-reliance in our students, to develop within them the capacity for creative and independent thought, and to equip them with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to meet the challenges of their next steps in life -- is increasingly essential in the task of preparing young people to successfully navigate today’s complex and changing world. At Green Meadow Waldorf School, we are proud not only of the accomplishments of our students upon graduation, but of the people they become throughout their lives.
Whether you are actively seeking a more meaningful education or are just exploring school options, we welcome your interest in Green Meadow. We accept applications year-round, and, in some cases, mid-year enrollment is an option. I encourage you to contact me to discuss your individual situation.
Green Meadow students come from a myriad of learning environments – public schools, independent schools, home-schooling - for a unique education they cannot find elsewhere. Our current student body represents 80 towns from Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex and Fairfield counties, in addition to three New York City boroughs. Despite our wide geographic range – or, perhaps, because of it! - ours is a close-knit, supportive community where parents and faculty of many backgrounds work together to provide the best possible experience for our children.
I warmly invite you to come and experience Green Meadow for yourself. Please contact me to set a date for a campus tour or admissions visit.
Sincerely,
Patricia Owens
