We understand education as drawing potential out of students. It's how we teach, not what we teach, that's different! Our unique approach engages the heart and enhances our students' cognitive abilities, helps them enjoy school, and motivates them to learn.
The child's experience in the classroom is an active one, ranging from quiet work to lively class discussion, with students asking and answering questions and sharing their opinions and ideas.
Our cutting-edge, academically challenging, arts-infused curriculum includes block-style learning and offers a classical education that enables our students to mature into adults who have the opportunity to reach their full potential, excelling in many areas, unafraid to take risks as they work to solve problems.
A Waldorf Education is developmentally appropriate, meeting children where they are, at each stage of their lives. Our teachers “continue” with their classes, often from Grades 1 through 8. In doing so, teachers create a second family at school, get to know each child's learning style and character, and generate a sense of security and stability. In addition, teachers and students have the opportunity to work through challenges together and form lifelong bonds. As children progress through the grades, they learn with a variety of specialty teachers, allowing for other relationships to form.
In a time like ours when anxiety is high, a Green Meadow education creates an environment in which academic standards are rigorous, but stress is minimized by strong relationships, ample artistic and physical activity, and opportunities for joy and discovery.
We admit families, not just students. Green Meadow's Lower School parents often comment on the sense of being part of a family, with a community of learners. Every member of the faculty and staff is focused on your family's experience at Green Meadow and on making sure that your child gets the strongest possible foundation for a lifetime of learning and success.
