Application Process

Early Childhood

The Green Meadow application process is designed to facilitate an exchange of information between the school and our prospective families.  In order to help you learn more about Green Meadow, we offer a variety of admission events throughout the year, some designed just for parents, and others for parents and children.  These are wonderful opportunities to learn more about our philosophy, see our campus in action, and speak with our faculty and administrators.  For a list of upcoming events, please go to our Admissions Events page.

1. Introductory Sessions

The first required step in the Early Childhood application process is for parents to register for an (adult-only) Introductory Session. These  two-hour sessions include:

- An informative video presentation on Waldorf Education, much of which was filmed at Green Meadow
- A question and answer period with our Administrator
- A tour of our campus

Our next Introductory Session takes place Friday, January 14. To register for this date or to set up another time to visit, please contact Admissions Coordinator, Patricia Owens, at powens@gmws.org or 845-356-9715.

2.   Application

Applications may be submitted at any time.

An application consists of the following:

- A completed application form (click here) with a recent photo of your child
- A separate sheet describing why you are choosing Waldorf Education
- A $50.00 application fee (checks should be made payable to Green Meadow Waldorf School)

3. Parent/Teacher Interview

Both parents must be present at the interview with an Early Childhood teacher so that the teacher may gain a full picture of your child and discuss details of our program.

4.  Student Visit

Following the parent interview, your child will be invited to participate in an afternoon playgroup.

5.  Admissions Decision

Acceptance into the class is determined by the Early Childhood faculty.  The admissions decision is communicated in writing to the parents in the spring.

Parents will be notified of their child's teacher assignment during the summer.

6. Financial Arrangements

Following acceptance, the Business Office will contact parents to make financial arrangements for enrollment.

Green Meadow Waldorf School is committed to fostering a fully inclusive school community and welcomes students and staff of all cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds.
