Study Abroad

Study Abroad

One of the most exciting and popular programs Green Meadow High School has to offer is our three-to-five month Foreign Exchange Program in the tenth and eleventh grades. By tenth grade, students have usually achieved the level of proficiency that will allow them to integrate successfully into another culture and school setting, enabling them to attain fluency in the language they have been studying. In addition to providing an excellent opportunity to strengthen their foreign language skills, the exposure to a different culture is an extremely valuable experience for adolescents. The fact that Waldorf Education is a worldwide movement enables us to offer this program.

Over the past 25, years we have been sending students to sister Waldorf schools in France, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile and, more recently, Peru – and students from these countries attend Green Meadow in return. Therefore, we can count on the participants experiencing both school and family environments that reflect Waldorf values and educational goals. Visiting Foreign Student Program

Green Meadow has gained a worldwide reputation for excellence in Waldorf Education. Our lively and popular Foreign Exchange Program has had many more inquiries from abroad than we have been able to fill. As a result, we now offer fellow Waldorf students the chance to gain many of the experiences of an exchange by staying with us for as long as a year while boarding with host families. The Visiting Foreign Student Program enriches our entire school community. For further information on either of these programs, please contact Joanne Monteleone, jmonteleone@gmws.org or 845-356-2514, x312.
