Green Meadow offers two on-campus summer programs.  Just like our school classes, each summer program provides important opportunities for play and natural discovery that childhood experts increasingly recognize as vital to children’s healthy intellectual and emotional development.  (In addition to that, our summer programs are just plain fun!)

Play, Picnic & Pond ~ for children ages 3 and up

Led by Teresa Bellaby, GMWS alumna and leader of Green Meadow’s After-School at Oak House program, Play, Picnic & Pond provides children of nursery, kindergarten, and lower school age an informal environment of organized activities and free play.  Based in Oak House, the cozy red building which adjoins the Green Meadow campus, Play, Picnic & Pond offers ample time for outdoor explorations and includes an afternoon swim at the Threefold Pond across the road.  Parents may sign up their children for full or half days, with drop-in options available.

Play, Picnic & Pond is offered 8:00 am-4:30 pm weekdays, June 7th through August 27th.  Fees range from $45 for one half day to $350 for a full-day, five-day week.  Download enrollment and health forms below. Summer Farm Days ~ for children ages 4-6

Down on the farm, your child will care for lambs and calves, spend time in the garden, go on nature walks, bake bread, make ice cream, create crafts from nature, have fun with water play, and experience much more.

The program is run by a Green Meadow Waldorf School Early Childhood teacher and takes place just down the road from the school on the grounds of the Fellowship Community farm (241 Hungry Hollow Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY).

Summer Farm Days runs from June 14 - 25, half day, 8:30 am -1:00 pm ($360 per week) or full day, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm ($500 per week). Limited to 12 children.
