Ayako Yanagi
Preschool Teacher
After working in human resources at financial institutions in NYC for many years, Ayako became a mother of two and started exploring Waldorf education. She assisted Waldorf kindergarten teachers and supported as an administrative assistant at Linden Hill School and Apple Blossom Waldorf School in CT. Ayako moved to Green Meadow when her older daughter entered first grade and she has been working in GMWS nursery and kindergarten for 13 years. She helped set up the Saturday Japanese program at Brooklyn Waldorf School in 2012 and established a Waldorf-inspired Japanese Saturday School, Brooklyn Nijinokakehashi (Rainbow Bridge) Cultural Center, in 2015.
Last year Ayako served as the Little Birds Nature Preschool teacher and currently enjoys teaching the Maple Garden Nature Preschool. Her older daughter graduated from Green Meadow with the class of 2017 and her younger one graduated with the class of 2021.
