Carissa Cottler

Second Grade Teacher

Carissa taught in the lower grades for several years in the New York City public school system and in the town of Irvington, NY. She also served as a literacy consultant for Yonkers Partners in Education and Bronxville Rotary Club. Furthermore, she was the program facilitator for a program called Family Reading Time in Westchester County for many years. Carissa is also a certified yoga teacher.

Over the years, Carissa has served in many roles as a parent at Green Meadow, including class parent, class parent support coordinator, and parent council co-chair. In 2017, she joined the GMWS faculty as a literacy teacher. In 2021, she also served as an assistant teacher in grade two. Currently, she is teaching first grade to the Class of 2034.
