Farida Rodriguez

American Sign Language Teacher

Farida taught 8th grade ASL at Green Meadow during the 2020-2021 school year and joined the GMWS faculty as an ASL teacher in Fall 2021. She also does private tutoring in ASL for any ages that want to learn sign language. She volunteered and assisted ASL teachers in elementary school and college, when she was a student at Hostos Community College and Hunter College.

Farida was born Deaf and came to the US to learn sign language when she was six-and-a-half years old. She can hear with hearing aids, speak, and read lips. She has a husband and three kids who are hearing and communicate in sign language with Farida.
