Outdoor summer programs for children ages 3-12
The alluring scents and sunny days of summer tempt us to trade work and routine in favor of time outdoors.
Our teachers understand the young child’s desire to daydream and explore during the summer season.
They consciously plan experiences that allow children to unwind from the school year into a new “holiday” mood and a sense of freedom and exploration.
Summer Programs 2026
A new adventure every day!
Designed to complement our September through June programs, Green Meadow Waldorf School’s summer offerings engage young children with a balance of summer activities that strengthen their developing skills and capacities.
Led by our experienced Waldorf teachers, our summer programs take place on more than 11 acres of farm, fields, forests, gardens, and streams. Parents appreciate our unplugged environment and our ecological sustainability. We use beautiful materials for handcrafts and real tools for gardening. Our programs welcome children into learning experiences that nourish their senses, engage their innate desire for self-initiated movement, and inspire their budding imaginations.
Summer 2026
Marigolds (3-5 year old children)
Our Marigolds will thrill in the magic of exploring the forest, caring for the animals in the garden and on the farm, and playing in the fairy stream. Children will discover that red cabbage, Mulberries, roots, tree bark, and Marigold flowers give us a beautiful rainbow of natural colors to dye silks or T-shirts with. They will enjoy heart-shaped crafts and winter-themed arts in the summer. From arts and crafts and nature exploration to storytelling and circle time, each day of the week follows a rhythm that will allow summer to invite treasured moments.
It is expected that your child has gone through toilet learning and will be able to separate from their caregiver with ease.
Offered Monday-Thursday, 8:30-2:45 June 15th-July 2nd.

Summer 2026
Summer Farmers (5-10 year old children)
Our Summer Farm Program, set on a real working farm, is a work and play based program. The Summer Farmers will engage in caring for the sheep, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. They will plant, harvest and tend to the gardens, play in the natural setting of the farm, and learn about the farm animals and listen to stories about them. They will participate in a variety of artistic activities using creative modalities and natural materials, creating memorable take-home items. This will be a summer of cultivating relationships that intertwine humans, plants, and animals and foster their curiosity and engagement.
Offered Weekly, 9:00-2:00 June 15th-July 30th

Summer 2026
Art & Adventure (8-12 year old children)
Our Art & Adventure explorers will have ample time to play and explore in the forest, gathering materials to inspire and create their own artwork. Days will be filled with wood carving and art projects, swimming at the pond, and embarking on adventurous hikes.
Offered Monday-Thursday, 8:45-3:00 June 15th-25th
