Tuition
Our mission is to provide a Waldorf Education to all who desire it and we are dedicated to inclusion.
Affording Green Meadow
As a private school dedicated to inclusion, Green Meadow Waldorf School (GMWS) takes very seriously our mission to provide a Waldorf Education for all who desire it. We strive to keep our costs reasonable through careful planning and good stewardship of resources. Through our Scaled Tuition model, GMWS is proud to be able to provide a high-quality independent school education at a tuition that’s within reach of a range of families. Nearly half of GMWS families receive Scaled Tuition.

Scholarships
We are offering a limited number of diversity scholarships to students entering Grades 1-12 in the 2022-23 school year. Partial and full scholarships are available, according to need.
We welcome applications from students who can contribute to the diversity of our community, have financial needs, have a demonstrated ability to meet academic requirements, and are interested in engaging in the Waldorf curriculum, which includes a balance of academic, artistic, and practical work.
Scaled Tuition
As part of our commitment to socioeconomic diversity, Green Meadow Waldorf School offers tuition reduction through Scaled Tuition for families with financial need. Scaled Tuition is available to many families who apply and is determined primarily by tuition cost in relation to a family’s household income.
Our Scaled Tuition model is developing and we continue to work with families to refine and improve the process. Scaled Tuition awards are based on both the financial needs of families and budgeted funds for tuition assistance. For most families, Scaled Tuition reduces tuition obligations so that tuition payments fall between 14 and 20 percent of the family’s adjusted gross income. Please note, however, that Green Meadow maintains a minimum tuition obligation of around 50 percent of the full tuition cost. For new families, the maximum tuition reduction will not exceed 40 percent of full tuition under any circumstances.
The needs for financial assistance are always greater than the resources we have to meet them. The primary responsibility for financing a Waldorf education rests with families. We expect all parents to contribute honestly toward tuition and to prioritize a Waldorf education as a part of their household budget. In general, 3-day Early Childhood programs are not eligible for discounts for families with only one child in the school.
The application process is open to all families. There is a $50 fee. Applications must be on time. Late applications will be reviewed when the process for timely applications has been completed.
It is not possible for the school to become involved in any financial arrangements between separated parents. If parents are separated or divorced and both contribute to educational expenses, both must provide financial documentation as part of the Scaled Tuition application.
In two-parent families, both parents are expected to contribute income if there are no preschool children at home and whether or not parents are separated/divorced.
Families with outstanding tuition in arrears will not be considered for Scaled Tuition until balances are made current or payment arrangements have been made. Green Meadow reserves the right to cancel contracts for families whose arrears remain unpaid at the beginning of the school year.
Scaled Tuition applications are submitted in addition to the regular application, online via TADS. New students may apply for scaled tuition while applying for a spot at Green Meadow. Assessment information provided by TADS is used to determine eligibility for Scaled Tuition. Your submitted information will remain confidential. To apply for scaled tuition, please follow the instructions found here.
Current parents only: With questions regarding scaled tuition, contact Donna Quirk, Student Billing Coordinator, at 845.352.5020, x117.
Prospective parents: Please contact the admissions office with questions about scaled tuition.
