After School Program

The Green Meadow After School Care Program supports families needing childcare from 2:45pm-6pm during the school year. Our goal is to give children an opportunity  to be received with warmth and loving guidance after a full day of school activities. The program serves  children in Nursery, Kindergarten, and grades 1-6. 

All school values and codes for dress and conduct apply to this program. Home toys and games should be kept at home unless previous arrangements have been made with the After-School teacher. 

The After School Programs are outdoors programs, weather permitting, adjacent to the Early Childhood building for EC students and in the Lower School play yard for lower school students. The children gather as a family group and begin their afternoon with a healthy, organic snack followed by outdoor play.

In inclement weather students in aftercare will engage in quiet activities including simple crafts, homework, and quiet play. Instrument lessons and/or tutoring may be scheduled by lower school  parents during this time.

2:45-5pm (Preschool/Kindergarten)  / 3:20-6pm (Lower School)

Daily Rhythm

2:45 Preschool and Kindergarten children picked up and taken to the After-School Teacher

2:45-3:20 Greeting Time and hearty snack followed by Outdoor Play

3:20 After School Care begins for grades 1-6

Children may attend with regular, scheduled attendance or, as space allows, for a single day or sporadic use, which requires calling Mrs. H. at 845-356-2514 (x300) for Grade School no later than 2:30pm on the day of enrollment. Parents using the after care program on a regular basis (i.e., every Wednesday & Friday) should communicate that schedule to the After-School Teacher as soon as possible.

For less regular use, please contact Mrs. H. (for grades) no later than 2:30pm on the  days your child(ren) will use the program, or Dorothy Walden for Early Childhood.

You will be notified if the program is full, in which case you must make other arrangements to have your child(ren) picked up. NO UNANNOUNCED DROP-IN ENROLLMENT IS ACCEPTED. There will be no after care during school holidays.
