International, Exchange, and Boarding Students
Green Meadow boasts a diverse international population in our High School, hosting visiting students on language-based exchanges from Argentina, Austria, Chile, Germany, Spain, and Switzerland, as well as international students from countries including Canada, Japan, Korea, and the People’s Republic of China.
Visiting Student and Exchange Student Program
Green Meadow has a worldwide reputation for excellence in Waldorf Education; we welcome inquiries about our language-based Exchange Program.
- For more information about our German-language exchange or Visiting Student Programs, please contact Melissa McDonagh at 845.356.2514 x302.
- For Spanish-language exchange programs, please contact Jennifer Brooks Quinn at 845.356.2514 x104.
Since our Exchange Program often has more inquiries than we can fill, and attracts interest from students who speak languages other than German or Spanish, we offer Waldorf students the chance to attend Green Meadow by boarding with a Green Meadow host family for up to a year. Both the Exchange Program and the Visiting Student Program enrich our entire school community.
International students who wish to apply to Green Meadow for one full school year (or longer) may contact Melissa McDonagh. All visiting students will need to apply for an F-1 student visa before entering Green Meadow.
Green Meadow is registered with SEVIS, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, and is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students.
Notice for Applicants of the People’s Republic of China
To better facilitate the application process for students from the People’s Republic of China, all inquiries regarding admission to Green Meadow Waldorf School from Chinese students who both reside and attend school in the PRC should be directed to our specialist admissions advisors at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All applicants from the PRC are required to undergo a spoken and written English language proficiency test as part of the admissions process. The test will be conducted by a specialist language-testing partner, who will provide student evaluations directly to Green Meadow. The evaluations will be considered in conjunction with the other application material submitted by the student. Our admissions advisers will provide more detailed information about the language testing process to students who meet our preliminary admissions criteria.
Tuition fees for international students are as follows:
US $40,340 - tuition fee for an international high school student
US $15,000 - 10 months accommodation and board from September through June
US $3,360 - administration fees, costs for extra-curricular music lessons, etc.
Our International, Visiting, and Exchange students become immersed in the English language and American culture by boarding in the home of a host family within our school community- often a faculty member or family of a current student. Students are well cared for, have a home away from home, and have a deeper cultural experience.
Flexible home-based boarding can also be arranged for any domestic student who would like to enroll at our school but lives too far to commute.
